Fall Nail Trends

Autumn’s bold hues have been splashed across our fingernails!

We’ve noticed an elemental theme to these shades, which seem to pull the very best colors from nature.

Fire

For the last several seasons a standout dark shade has captured the attention of the style set, and this year it’s deep red, like Deborah Lippmann’s maroon polish. However, if you’re feeling sassier, you can’t go wrong with a bright crimson, if only to match another hot trend for fall—cherry red lips.

Dior ‘Vernis d’Or Collection” Nail Lacquer in Apparat 871 ($22)

L’Oreal Target Red Pro Manicure ($3.94)

Deborah Lippmann Nail Crème in Single Ladies ($16)

Lancome Le Vernis in Red 102 ($15)

Air

From stormy grays to dusky purples, a muted atmospheric tone satiates an understated mood. The newest trend in textured nail art? This Nails Inc. polish has magnetic powder in it that gives your paint job a subtle, wave-like pattern like wind blowing through sand dunes.

Sonia Kashuk Nail Colour in Blank Slate ($4.99)

Nars Night Series Nail Polish in Night Rider ($17)

Nails Inc. Magnetic Polish in Trafalgar Square ($16)

Essie Nail Polish in Like Linen ($8)

Earth

Rich greens, corals, browns and golds pick up pigments from Arizona deserts to Washington rain forests, bringing a hint of warmth to chilly days.

Essie Nail Polish in Very Structured ($8)

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Wallis ($14)

RGB Nail Polish in Cognac ($16)

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Nail Polish in Rags to Rich ($3.99)

Water

It-color blue looks smashing on nails, whether it’s a saturated primary, liquid teal or deep sea navy.

Mac Nail Lacquer in Biker Blue ($15)

Essie Nail Polish in Dive Bar ($8)

Scotch Naturals Non-Toxic Nail Polish in Seaboard ($14.99)

YSL La Laque in Turquoise Blue ($20)
