Work Looks for Less

TAGS: women's clothes, shopping, casual attire, office attire

Lucky for working frugal fashionistas everywhere, you can look great without spending a lot of your hard earned money. I worked with two local retailers who helped me pull together great work looks for less. See what you think.

Anyone who reads my stories knows that I love Target.

Their fashion team monitors the trends better than any other discount retailer and creates clothing that’s budget friendly. Sometimes their fabric choices leave me wanting more, but I was thrilled at what I found for an everyday office look. (Check out these gladiator platform sandals. They’re current and comfy!)

  • Black and white cotton sheath with belt, $39.99, target.com
  • Hollywood Intuition Tote, white faux leather with endless pockets, $29.99, target.com
  • Mossimo Natural Palani Gladiator Sandal, $24.99, target.com

With four J. Crew stores within short driving distance to North Shore shoppers, it’s hard not to look to this styling mecca for fabulous off-the-rack work wear.

What I love about this outfit is its simplicity—a great dress in a neutral color, fabulous shoes, and a statement bracelet. This dress could look completely different if you were to add a cardigan with a studded belt and some gorgeous pumps. You could take it casual with an on-trend safari jacket and some metallic flip flops. Investing in one amazing basic like this dress can give you an entire week’s worth of eye-catching looks.

Shopping tip: If you’re shopping online, be sure to Google any available coupons before you submit your order. Often times, sites like retailmenot.com will have offers for free shipping or a certain percentage off if you register your e-mail address with the site where you’re making a purchase.
