It's a beautiful evening of music at an amazing price.
It's a top-notch concert for just $15–Bella Voce, an a cappella choir conducted by the Lyric Opera's own Andrew Lewis, is performing Claudio Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine (1610) on Saturday, March 27 at Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St., Glenview.
According to the Bella Voce website, the concert is "one of the most influential works in Western culture, the 1610 Vespers straddle the moment in history when the ancient practices make way for the new. With this work Monteverdi brings us the language of music that we all recognize today. Bella Voce is distinctively partnered with Chicago’s own world renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine, Baroque violin virtuoso Martin Davids, and his brilliant period-instrument chamber ensemble, The Callipygian Players."
