Lemon Drop Martini Recipe

We’re done with the Cosmo and Appletini. At your next girls’ night in, serve Lemon Drops. They’re super easy to put together, and you don’t need any exotic ingredients.

More importantly, they’re delicious! If any drink can stop the automatic, “I’ll have a glass of white wine,” the Lemon Drop is it.

Serves: 6
Prep time: 15 min.
Cook time: 0 min.

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar, plus more for the garnish
1/2 cup water
2 cups vodka
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (save the lemon halves after you squeeze them)
Ice

Directions

1. Mix the sugar and water together, and heat in the microwave or in a saucepan just until the sugar dissolves. Now you have simple syrup.
2. Mix the vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup together, and refrigerate until your gal pals arrive.
3. Put ice in a cocktail shaker, add vodka mixture and really shake it. You want it to be frothy and very cold.

Shopping List

Produce
2-3 lemons

Other Items

Vodka
Sugar

Cook’s notes:
Before you serve in a martini glass, wipe the edge of the glass with a reserved lemon half. Then dip the glass rim in sugar. Pour in the drink, and serve. If you’re really fancy, you could peel some lemon zest and float it in the glass.
