Memorial Day through Labor Day—summer is here, and with just 99 days to enjoy warm weather on the North Shore, it’s time to get busy.

Need some ideas? We’re going to offer up 33 a month, so you’ll never lack for a fresh option. Let’s start with June:

1. Ride your bike—there's a bunch of great trails to enjoy within blocks of your backyard
2. Watch a bicycle race at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome
3. Buy a new pair of sandals

6. Become a blues fan at the Chicago Blues Festival
7. Time to play golf—to switch it up, try a public course in a neighboring community
8. Talk like a pirate

10. Plant a container garden with the kids

11. Drink some dandelion wine
12. Run from and for the animals.
13. Visit the Barrington Country Garden and Antique Faire
14. Squeeze in a trip to Steppenwolf—Middletown is playing now!
15. Go gourmet with your farmers' market finds

16. Run the North Shore Half Marathon
17. Hey sailor! Celebrate Chicago Navy Week
18. Go canoeing
19. Have breakfast at Wagner Farm
20. Trick your kids into thinking Custer’s Last Stand was really in Evanston

21. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon at Arlington Park
22. Eat and drink anything and everything strawberry
23. Go to the National Whiffleball Championship
24. Ditch the mall for a vintage festival
25. Switch up the standards on the grill for something new

26. Try somewhere new for ice cream
27. Push yourself an extra mile and sign up for a 5K
28. Pick one day this month to volunteer
29. Go to the Superdawg Drive-In
30. Try a new art medium—drawing, painting, clay, photography—you name it

31. Take a moonlit walk with somebody special
32. Dance away a hot summer night at the Chicago Botanic Garden
33. Get some professional help for that funny bone at the TBS Just for Laughs Festival
