Thursday, September 9, at 6:00 pm in Guild Lounge in Scott Hall current and former presidents of the National Organization for Women, the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States. Terry O’Neill (WCAS ’74) and Karen DeCrow (Medill ’59) will be discussing forty years of feminist activism and their experiences in feminist leadership. A student moderator from Northwestern’s College Feminists will host a Q & A on contemporary issues of gender equity, and the event will close with a light reception.
This event is co-hosted with the University Library and University Archives in honor of alumnae Karen DeCrow’s donation of papers, including a wealth of documents, photographs, and other original materials relating to the history of the modern American women's movement and her own, often very high-profile political and personal engagement for gender rights over many decades.
