Fresh: Mondo Mandelbrot

Once Passover has passed (or before it arrives), grab some leavened goodness in the form of Mandelbrot, or mandel bread, which is Yiddish for “almond bread” and similar to biscotti.

Libby & Laura, a company started by Laura Klibanow of Highland Park, makes the certified kosher treats in a variety of flavors, all based on Laura's late cousin Libby’s recipe. All the baking is done in Skokie.

Mandelbrot and other Libby & Laura baked goods available at Garden Fresh Market in Northbrook, Anton’s Fruit Ranch in Highland Park and select Jewel stores. Catering, gift baskets and special orders are available through libbyandlaura.com.
