Antique Store Vintage Nest Opens in The Glen

A few years ago, antiquing-addict Mindy Schloss of Glenview opened a warehouse.

Inside were her finds: Mostly antique furniture, much of it repaired, painted and/or refinished. But she only opened the warehouse to the public two days a week. Now, you can get your fix every day at her shop, Vintage Nest, in The Glen, which also offers home accessories with a vintage feel, clothing, and a mix of vintage and new jewelry.

Everything is one-of-a-kind, culled from antique shows and markets all over the country. The style is calming and bohemian. And the prices? “Very reasonable,” Schloss says, empathically. “You can get an end-table for $60. I have a gorgeous wrought-iron bed for under $400, and a refinished armoire for $650.”
