Cover Your Cause

MakeItBetter.net is auctioning our cover!

All proceeds go to the charity of the winner's choice. Bid by visiting our charity auctions page.

The winner gets to have his or her family or friends photographed for the December 2010 magazine cover by John Reilly.

Inside, we'll do a profile story on the family and charity chosen by the winning family. It's a great chance to highlight the charity you love and make a donation to the cause.

Here are the auction rules:

General Description and Terms for the Cover for Charity Project

General Project Description: Make it Better.net is accepting bids from individuals or groups of friends for the qualified right to have their family or their group photo - featured on the cover of the Makeitbetter.net Magazine’s December edition. Proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to the not-for-profit selected by the winning bidder, less 15% to cover our costs of production.

The following rules and terms will generally apply to this Project.

Bids may be submitted by individuals or groups in accordance with instructions found at www.makeitbetter.net/charity-auction. The deadline for submission of bids is midnight on Sept 30, 2010. The highest bid submitted as of the deadline will be declared the winner. The winner will be announced on or about October 3rd.

Subject to our approval, the winner may select one qualified tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization as beneficiary of the auction proceeds. Proceeds means the winning bid amount, less costs, which will not exceed 15% of the winning bid amount.

The winner may select up to EIGHT INDIVIDUALS or one family to be photo-featured on the cover of our December print edition, currently scheduled to publish just prior to Thanksgiving.

Bidders can elect to bid anonymously.

Payment of the bid amount, the name and general background information of the individuals selected to appear on the cover must be received on or before October 5, 2010. A photo shoot will be scheduled and take place the second week of October.

Photos will be taken by John Reilly. The photo used on the cover will be consistent with our current cover format and selected by Make it Better.net. Photos may be edited or touched-up for hi resolution printing. Individuals appearing on the cover will be required to sign an appropriate instrument granting us the right to commercially use and display the photo and accompanying information in any medium without royalty or charge.

In addition the winner will be interviewed for an in-magazine article (approximately 700 words in length) about why the Winner chose this charity.

Make it Better.net reserves the right, in its discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of the foregoing terms or otherwise cancel this Project at any time. In the case of cancelation, we will refund the winner the bid amount as full and complete satisfaction of our obligations.
