It's the largest and oldest in the country—and it's the fashion event of the season.
This year's Rush University Medical Center Fashion Show, "Feel the Pulse," marks its 84th venture with cocktails, fashion and an after-party at the Palmer House Hilton this Thursday.
The show got its start back in 1927 with the St. Luke's Fashion Show, held in the ballroom of the former Stevens Hotel. Back then, the Woman's Board amassed $32,000 in donations. Today, the Board's hard work has contributed to continuously successful fundraising efforts—with recent shows raising more than $500,000 each year. Altogether, the Board has raised more than $16 million.
Why so popular? It could be the result of many spectacular designers' collections and retailers on display. Michael Kors, Luca Luca, Ralph Lauren, J. Mendel, Frances Heffernan, The Lake Forest Shop, Neapolitan, Saks Fifth Avenue, Loro Piana and more will have their wares on the catwalk for some of the Chicago area's most avid fashion fans.
Still need a reason to attend? New York City's The Dexter Lake Club Band is providing the musical backdrop for the evening's after-party!
