We all know that it is really detrimental to the environment and the safety of our water supply to discard unused prescription drugs in the garbage or pour them down the drain. Plaza del Lago Pharmacy (1515 Sheridan in Wilmette) accepts prescription drugs for safe disposal; they may also accept OTC drugs. Walgreens will not accept either. As the recycling moves into new arenas, such a textile recycling which is now available in NYC, I think it is important for people to know how they can participate.
